The Office
Oster, Lang, Architects is a well-known architectural partnership based in Jerusalem, with projects throughout Israel.
Since our office was established in 1997, we have developed a specialization in different types of public projects of varying degrees of complexity, including community centers, schools, and synagogues. We have also gained extensive experience in residential projects, both new construction and adaptations of historic, landmark buildings. In fact, one of our trademarks is the juxtaposition of wonderfully contemporary design with the rich textured fabric of old construction. In the past few years, we have become involved in sustainable architecture, and are interested in sensitizing our clients to this important component of contemporary architecture.
Regardless of the project's size or complexity, Oster, Lang Architects directs it from the first concept, through planning and execution, down to the detail of the very last light bulb.
Services
The practice is owned and managed by the partners Eli Oster and Yvan Lang. While we have lived in Israel for several decades, we are originally from the United States and France, respectively. Our familiarity with the norms and standards of those countries makes our office the ideal choice for clients from abroad who are looking for professionals who can speak their language, understand their needs, and translate that into quality design.
In addition, our firsthand knowledge of the needs of religious families enables us to address those issues with great success.
The office prides itself on its ability to listen carefully to the desires and aspirations of our clients, and utilize high quality design standards to realize their vision, despite the web of practical issues that characterize Israel's building industry.
We use the latest computer enhanced technologies to smooth and optimize the design process and to help the client understand the project fully. As project designer and coordinator, we handle all relations with the project consultants (such as electricity, plumbing, air-conditioning, lighting) to ensure the finest results, while adhering to an efficient time schedule.
Scope of work
Our portfolio includes private projects of various scales and of different types – construction, renovation and interior design – for clients from Israel, United States, England, Australia, Switzerland, Belgium and France.
